About All My Cameras

Guides for people who shoot with more than one camera.

All My Cameras is for people who shoot with more than one camera. A 360 camera, a drone, an action camera, a mirrorless body, a phone and now smart glasses: each one has its own batteries, chargers, file names, apps and cloud. We write the guides we wanted when we were juggling all of them.

What we cover

  • Travelling with gear: what goes in the carry-on, battery rules for flights, how much a kit weighs, charging abroad.
  • Storage and getting your files back: Google Photos, iCloud, Amazon Photos and GoPro Cloud, and how to keep a safe copy on your own drives.
  • Files and workflow: what each camera's files are, how to keep footage from several cameras organised, and how to copy cards without losing anything.
  • Choosing gear: comparisons built on published specs, not hype.

Our data

Weights, battery capacities and other specs in our tables come from a database of camera, drone, phone and wearable models that we keep. Every value is taken from the maker's published specs where they exist, with the source recorded, and is left blank rather than guessed when no source gives it. Rules for flights and drones change, so we name the authority each rule comes from, and you should check it before you travel.

What's next

We are building tools to go with the guides: a place to list your gear, pack it for a trip by weight and bag, and keep the rules and fixes for your gear with you offline.
